Pileup Leads to 10 Fatalities

A line of cars and trucks hit one another, early Sunday on a dark Florida highway, which was in so much haze and smoke that drivers were blinded. At least 10 people were killed during the crash. When rescuers first arrived at the scene, they could only listen for screams due to poor visibility that made it hard to find the victims in the crash that went on for almost a mile.

Authorities are still trying to find out the exact cause of the pileup which occurred south of Gainesville on Interstate 75. They say the cause may be due to a mixture of fog and heavy smoke from a brush fire that may have been set intentionally. At least a dozen cars and six tractor trailers were involved in the accident. Some of the cars burst into flames.

The accident caused ten fatalities and at least eighteen people were taken to the hospital.

As a personal injury attorney Washington , I advise all drivers to drive carefully during such conditions when you can’t see the road. It would be best to pull off to the side in a safe location until you’re able to see the road again!

Understanding the Relationship Between Air Pollution and Water Pollution

Comments Off

Any type of pollution can affect every living organism (including human beings) and each ecosystem in many ways. As a matter of fact, contamination of the air can eventually lead to the corruption of bodies of water and land areas as well. According to expert environmentalists and scientists, air pollution can directly affect the natural water systems. We must clean our air to maintain the purity of our water supplies.

The contamination of our bodies of water (and land areas) starts in the simple process of the making of acid rain. When airborne pollutants mixed with the process of precipitation, clouds will contain the destructive acid rain. Acid rain can destroy structures, buildings and some crops. The contamination of bodies of water starts when landfall of acid rain showered on surface water supplies. Other than altering and compromising the land and soil composition, acid rain can also pollute underground water supply in the process.
